Speaking during the first congress meeting of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), presided over by its chairman, Comrade Bemdoo Ugber, in Makurdi, Mr Kula dismissed the claims as baseless and challenged those propagating the rumours to present evidence.
Mr Kula clarified that recent speculations accusing him of making derogatory remarks about Senator Akume were unfounded.
He reiterated that such unguarded allegations should be substantiated with proof, especially as some individuals were allegedly threatening to pursue legal action against him.
“To my chagrin, I am left wondering aloud. When the case goes to court, they must produce evidence showing where I insulted the elder statesman and Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume,” Mr Kula stated.
He also called on journalists to support the current administration in the state, urging them to focus on constructive engagements.
Earlier, NUJ Chairman, Comrade Bemdoo Ugber, passed a vote of confidence on Mr Kula, commending him for his outstanding performance in his role as CPS.
Ugber assured Mr Kula of the union’s unwavering support, emphasising that no intimidation would deter him from discharging his duties effectively.
