Federal Capital Territory FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike on Thursday dismissed social media reports that he collapsed last week, describing the reports as the handiwork of persons trying to score cheap political points.

Wike spoke after he inspected four ongoing projects in the territory, including the International Conference Centre, ICC.

The unfounded rumours, which gained traction on X, alleged that Wike collapsed at an event in Abuja last Friday and was subsequently rushed to an undisclosed hospital for treatment.

However, the minister made a public appearance just days later, joining other dignitaries for Sallah homage to President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa. Wike was seen in high spirits, further allaying concerns regarding his health.

His media aide, Lere Olayinka, had previously dismissed the claims as baseless, asserting that there was no truth to the reports.
