A Benin based Master of Ceremony (MC) popularly known as MC Joe has said that he is set on affecting generations positively with his craft as a comic merchant.
The artiste during an interview with Friday Extravaganza said he has inborn passion and Joy of seeing people laugh and be happy.
Actually “I have been making people laugh since 2007 but officially started in 2013”.
He also said, his role models are Bovi, basketmouth and Trevoh Noah.
According to him, apart from being an MC, he is into acting and practicing journalist.
He said, “my father has always been in support of all my positive decisions, but in this case I have been delaying the decision of starting professionally”.
Also “I was concerned with what people will say especially my family members”.
” In life there are a lot of challenges; lack of Gigs and if there is, the price is not encouraging. For instance, in Auchi polytechnic most events are free, familiarity with course mates and friends, they want you to work for them but not will to pay for the job.
Sharing his positive experience, he said, ” the positive part is that I talk people laugh and be happy and I am happy too and they still pay me”.
“And there is this sence of fulfillment you have when you step on stage to perform, people laugh and after the show some still walk up to you that the performance was great.
According to him “humiliation is not left out of my profession. In Rehab Comedy in GRA, Benin City with MC Casino in January 2019, it was arranged for two comedians, myself and Ebom Bomb, people were laughing and with joy expecting MC Ebom Bomb to come on stage. I was just an opener of the event, just as I was warming them up until Ebom comes up, the people were no longer patient they started screening and shouting “O boy comot there make Ebom Bomb climb stage”.
While advising upcoming artistes, he said, “I will say to upcoming artiste like me to Keep working on themselves to Achieve their full potentials and at the same time pray for grace.
