The immediate past Deputy Governor of Ondo State and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial aspirant, Agboola Ajayi has said that he would accept the outcome of the shadow election of the party only if the nomination exercise is transparent.

Ajayi made this known while declaring his intention to vie for the governorship of the state at a media parley in Akure, the state capital.

“I do not think the PDP will not promote transparency. They will not compromise. Once I enter and loose in a transparent manner, I will support whoever  emerged as candidate. If it is not transparent, we will protest,” he said.

The ex-deputy governor however expressed confidence of emerging victorious at the governorship primary of the party, scheduled to hold next month.

He said his decision to govern the state is because he has the capacity and experience to take the state out of the woods.

The former House of Representatives member promised to revive the economy of Ondo State if elected as the next governor of the state.

Ajayi said: “I understand how Ondo State can be governed and everybody will be happy.

I understand that we need to revive the economy of this state. I understand how to run the state without relying on federal government allocation. I can prove it to anybody. I understand where there is money in the state.

“I understand how our elderly people can get what they are due for after retirement. I know how to engage the youths.

“I know how to secure the society and I know that the economic activity of Ondo is best in the construction of road to link the riverine areas. If we do that, we will decongest Lagos State.
