I reshuffled for optimal performance-Akeredolu

Ondo State Governor Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has stated that he carried out a minor cabinet reshuffle within the members of the State Executive Council to further reposition his administration for optimal performance.

A statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Segun Ajiboye, said the reshufflment was also to actualise the Akeredolu-led administration’s redemption agenda..

It would be recalled that the governor had on Friday announced a minor cabinet reshuffle where some Commissioners were redeployed to new ministries, while the newly inaugurated Commissioners and Special Advisers were equally assigned their portfolios.

According to the cabinet rejig, former Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mr Yemi Olowolabi, was moved to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, as Mr Donald Ojogo was redeployed to take charge of Information and Orientation from his previous Ministry of Lands and Housing, while former Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Mr Saka Yusuf-Ogunleye was redeployed to the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure.

Also, Mr. Rasheed Badmus was moved from the Ministry of Natural Resources to the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development, just as the following Commissioners retained their previous Ministries. They are: Mr. Adekola Olawoye, SAN,  Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice; Mr. Wale Akinterinwa, Finance; Mr. Emmanuel Igbasan, Economic Planning and Budget, and Mr. Funso Esan,  Environment.

Others include: Mrs. Julianah Omolola Fagbemi, Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs; Prof. Bayonile Ademodi, Regional Integration and Special Duties; Mr. Femi Agagu,  Education, Science and Technology; Dr. Wahab Adegbenro, Health, and Otunba Adegboyega Adefarati, Agriculture.

The newly inaugurated Commissioners were also assigned their portfolios. They are : Mrs. Titilayo Adeyemi, Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development; Mr. Temitayo Oluwatuyi  Natural Resources; Mr. Fatai Olotu,  Lands and Housing, and Akindotun Olubunmi Owanikin, Esq, Youth and Sports Development.

Mrs. Yetunde Adeyanju was given Ministry of Water Resources, Public Sanitation and Hygiene, which has just been created.

 Other Special Advisers with their portfolios are: Dr. Olawumi Juliet Ilawole, Education; Mr. Akinboye Taiwo Oyewumi, Investment and Development; Mr. Tunji Ifabiyi  Commerce and Industry; Tunji Ariyomo, Energy; Tobi Ogunleye, Esq, Transport; Mr. Alaba Isijola, Union Matters, and Engr. Raimi Olayiwola Aminu, Lands, Works and Infrastructure.

The rest include: Mrs. Olubunmi Olubukola Ademosu, Public and Intergovernmental Relations; Dr. Jibayo Adeyeye, Health; Mr. Adekanye Olabimtan, Political Matters and Strategy; Mr. Babatunde Kolawole,  Rural and Community Development, and  Mr. Oyebo Aladetan, Niger-Delta Affairs.

The governor has equally directed the affected Commissioners and Special Advisers to handover all necessary documents within the next one week.

Meanwhile, Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has approved the appointments of 11 Special Assistants.They are: Azeez Awe;  Ayodele Adeyemi; Eddy Akinjo; Festus Aregbesola and Olushola Okun. Others include: Ademola Ogunje; James Atitebi; Olanrewaju Makinde; Engr. Adedapo Adesemoye; Babatunde Ikumawoyi and Akintoye Olatunji.

A statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr Segun Ajiboye, added that Governor Akeredolu congratulated the new appointees as they join him to further make his administration’s dream of developing the state a reality.
