 ‘I want to make it big in music’

A Lagos based upcoming blues music artiste, Olanrewaju Godwin popularly known as Light, has said that his love for music started from his secondary school days.

The middle aged artiste who said he intends to make it big in the music industry and get to a stage where he will make a lot of people proud of him shared his experience with Friday extravaganza.

 Godwin Light stated that his passion for music right from his growing days inspired him to venture into the business, adding that the fact that he plays keyboard and guitar has further helped him to become a better song writer.

According to him, he noticed the potential in him and hoped for an opportunity to come for him to go to the studio to record songs saying he cannot do without songs.

“I started singing in the year 2018 and I have been able to release my first song titled “Romeo” which featured my sister, Pearl,” he said.

Godwin Light noted that he had successfully released another track titled “Pray for Me” among others.

According to him, he has been able to put up a live-stage performance which enabled his fans to invite him for shows.

He mentioned some of his challenges as an upcoming artiste in the music industry to include the issue of finance which he noted have been his major challenge.

He noted that once his album is ready, he will do a little promotion to enable people get the links to download the songs, saying he needs more money and assistance for a better promotion.

The artiste mentioned his mentors in the industry starting that “My number one role model is Adekunle Gold. I love his style of music.”
