|
The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party to the Ondo North Senatorial seat in the February 23, National Assembly poll, Dr Olusegun Phillips-Alonge has disclosed that he will be contesting the result of the election at the election petition tribunal.

Dr Phillips-Alonge, popularly called Opa Isegun made this disclosure in an exclusive interview with The Hope in Ikare Akoko.

The PDP candidate contested with the incumbent senator, Dr Ajayi Borrofice of the APC and Dr Tunji Abayomi of the AA.

Dr Borrofice was declared the winner with over fifty three thousand votes.

He stated that the election was rigged in favour of the ranking senator and also alleged vote buying.

According to him, he and the PDP clearly won the election in the area.

Dr Olusegun Phillips-Alonge  said  he has assembled a formidable legal team to retrieve his stolen mandate while  loads of evidences to prove this are already in his possession.
