IAFC Intra Club competition: Crocodile FC thrash Antelope

The hostility continues at the Ijapo Housing field, Akure the state capital as Crocodile FC came from one zero down to romp past Antelope FC 3-1 in the week two of Ijapo Ages FC (IAFC) intra-club competition.

Winner Olanipekun gave Antelope FC the lead in the 16th minute of the scintillating encounter after he outsmarted his marker to put the ball into the far corner of the net.

Crocodile efforts to reduce the deficit before the hour mark were denied by Antelope back line.

The restart of the game saw Crocodile FC made some tactical substitutions which paid off immediately as one of the substituted players, Slim Benedict Olawale first touch of the ball beat Antelope FC Goalkeeper, Ayo Jaiyeoba into the net to level the first half lead.

Antelope FC reacted with Shalom Olaseeni initiated counter attack to restore their lead which was curtailed by the Crocodile FC.

Few minutes later,Olaitan Daramola converted a buffet head pass that beat beat Goalkeeper in the 28th minute from Gbolahan Balogun to turn the tide in his side favour.

Crocodile were trailing to level the deficit which put them in dangerous situation that made Joseph Monday scored from Gbolahan Balogun long pass to seal the victory 3-1 for Crocodile.

Earlier, Buffalo FC had defeated Elephant FC 1-0 in the first match of the day, both side were locked in a goalless draw after a touch first half encounter.

After much pressure in Elephant’s third half they committed a foul inside the box which Ajayi stepped forward and converted to give side the first victory of the competition after they had laboured to a goaless draw in the opening match against Buffalo FC.

The Captain of Crocodile FC Daniel Korodele in a chat with journalists, said his side had shrugged off the 3-1 lost they suffered in the hands of Dragon FC in their first match adding they are back to the winning ways. He urged the spectators at the Ijapo/ Housing mini stadium  to look out for surprise from his side.

“Our target is the final”, he said.
