Goals from Tope John and Moses Falade were all Dragons FC needed to devour Elephants FC 3-1 in the week four of the fourth edition of Ijapo Ages Stars FC intra competition to set a final date with Buffalos FC.
The encounter decided at Ijapo/ Housing field saw Tope John drew the first blood few minutes into the game when headed home from Timilehin cross. Before he fired a missile to the top roof of the net to extend his side lead ten minutes later from their beautiful team move.
The duo of Blessing Adeyemi and Raphael Adeyemo combination to halve the scores before the break were well tamed by the Dragons FC defence.
The score line remained 2-0 as the center referee signalled the end of the first stanza.
The pressure on Elephants FC continued at the restart of the game as Dragons FC were not stopping from playing in the final third.
Moses Falade made it three for his side as he received an assist from Caleb Domino and sent Elephants FC Goalkeeper, Soji John wrong way by slotting the ball into the edge of the net.
Timi Raski gave Elephants FC a consolation goal two minutes to end the encounter from Raphael Adeyemo pass.
Meanwhile, Buffalo FC played a goalless draw with Crocodiles FC in the second match of the day. Both sides found a goal too elusive to separate each other from the crunchy encounter.
The match was a must win for Crocodiles FC to qualify for the final of the competition, while a draw was enough to take Buffalos FC to the next level of the competition.
Finally the draw took Buffalos FC to the final having gannered seven points with one goal in four matches without conceding to settle for second position on the log behind Dragons FC who top the table with 10 points with eight goals .
While, Crocodiles FC, Elephants FC and Antelopes FC occupied third, fourth and fifth positions with five points, four points and one point respectively.
While congratulating the two finalists, chairman organising committee, Mr Shalom Olaseeni disclosed that the competition was put together to pick best legs that would be representing the club in inter competitions, saying the door of the club is open for quality legs that are willing to join the team.
He added that the club would in no distance time join other clubs in the state to meaningfully engage talented youths that are ready to take football as profession .
