Idanre council chairman presents N4.46bn ‘Renewed Hope’ budget

The chairman of Idanre Local Government, Mr. Smart Omotadowa Adeuyi, last week presented a budget proposal of N4,463,700,000.33 bilion to the legislative arm of the council.
The budget, tagged “Renewed Hope,” includes a capital expenditure of N974,333,231.71 and a recurrent expenditure of N3,484,285,529.80.
Omotadowa stated that the expected statutory revenue from FAAC is N1,302,073,674.18, the projected independent revenue isN200,000,000.00, and the anticipated 10% State IGR is N50,000,000.00.
He emphasized that the budget proposal signifies the return of accountability, checks, and balances in the administration of the local government.
The council boss assured that the impending and full implementation of local government autonomy would usher in rapid grassroots development and the massive delivery of the dividends of democracy.“
The presentation of the budget estimates to the legislature for passage is an obligation that must be fulfilled in accordance with the provisions of extant laws and regulations.
The 2025 budget estimate is tagged a budget of ‘Renewed Hope’. This is in line with unfolding events, especially the impending implementation of full financial autonomy at the local government level. When fully implemented, this autonomy will bring about rapid grassroots development and allow for the widespread delivery of democratic dividends to our people.
Through the concerted efforts of the executive, the legislature, and the workforce, we hope to achieve great strides in the provision of social amenities, infrastructural development, healthcare delivery, agricultural intervention, basic and fundamental education, and many other initiatives that will improve the quality of life for our people.”
He said the priority of the budget will focus on areas of need, particularly infrastructural development, and called for the cooperation of the legislative arm for its quick passage.“
It is expected that if the budget estimate is considered and approved by this Honorable House, major priority will be given to areas of need, especially infrastructural development, which will enable us to deliver the dividends of democracy to our people.
Receiving the budget proposal, the Leader of the House, Mr. Osedele Folarin, assured that justice would be done to it and commended the leadership style of the chairman.
