The House of Representatives member-elect for Owo/Ose Federal Constituency, Otunba Timehin Adelegbe has commiserated with the people of his constituency over the armed robbery incident at First Bank branch, Idoani which left many dead on Monday.
He described the incident as a rude shock, callous and ungodly, attributing it to the porousity of borders.
Adelegbe used the medium to call for an overhaul in the security architecture of Nigeria to forestall reoccurrence of such attack on defenceless communities.
“It was a rude shock to me yesterday when the sad news broke that some heavily armed gunmen attacked First Bank in the peaceful Idoani community of Ose LGA of the State, where lives of four bank officials, two customers and a Police officer on their lawful duties were cut down in their prime”, he lamented.
Adelegbe however commended the security agencies, particularly the Nigerian Army for their response to the distress calls during the period of the robbery.
He stressed the need for all hands to be on deck to ensure that the perpetrators are brought to justice.
“My heart is with the people who lost their loved ones in this incident. I want to sincerely commiserate with the people of my dear constituency. God in his infinite mercies will grant you the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss”, he said.
