The PWD table tennis team in the state won the rounds played both at the four singles and two doubles rounds.

The Commandant of the state NSCDC, Engr. Olatundun Olayinka presented cash prizes and certificates to the PWDs and other players.

Expressing gratitude on behalf of the chairman of Ondo State Agency for the Welfare of Persons With Disabilities, Princess Folasade Arise, commended the organisers for deeming it fit to consider the PWD for the competition, saying the inclusion is first of its kind.

Arise called for continual future collaboration with persons with disabilities.

She said: “This is commendable and spirit-lifting. The Corps have proved time without numbers that they are persons with disabilities friendly and this inclusion is a moral booster.

“Excitement filled the air as ability in disability practically demonstrated and a sense of inclusion given to them,” said the Ondo PWDs chairman.

The United Nations General Assembly declared the International Day of Peace as a day to strengthen the idea of peace globally and to be observed every year on the 21st of September.
