APC primary: Ife Oyedele steps down for Akeredolu

One of the leading aspirants in the race for the governorship seat in Ondo State under the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Engineer Ife Oyedele has stepped down his governorship ambition to support the re-election bid of the state Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.
Addressing newsmen yesterday evening at the Government House in Akure after a brief meeting with Governor Akeredolu, Oyedele explained that the decision was a sacrifice to ensure that peace reign supreme before and after the party’s primary to produce the candidate that will fly the flag of the APC in the October 10, 2020 Governorship Election in the state.
Oyedele who said that he found an ally in Governor Akeredolu being the two leading aspirants in the race stated that both of them have agreed to work together in the interest of peace and development of the state.
He noted that today’s primaries would be peaceful and without bloodshed, saying that the interest of the people of the state is paramount to them.
He said they would work together to unite and rebuild APC in the state.
Earlier, th state Governor, confirmed that both of them have agreed to work together to enlarge the frontiers of development in the Sunshine State.
He used the opportunity to commend Oyedele for his efforts in the power sector in the state being the Director of Niger Delta Power Holding Company.
