Ighalo ‘ll add value to Super Eagles -Ologbese

By Femi Atolagbe

Former Vice Chairman of Ondo State Football Association (FA), Mr. Dele Ologbese has drummed support for Super Eagles Coach, Gernot Rohr over the recall of Odion Ighalo to the team.
Ologbese added that the recall of the former Manchester United hitman will add value to the team, saying the step taken by the Franco German was a right step in the right direction.
He said the Super Eagles tactician has the right to look for all the means to fortify the team to be able to deliver the desirable results.
The former Chairman of the Super Eagles supporters club in the state, added that Ighalo’s return to the team would make the Eagles’ attack sharper.
He said despite having arrays of good strikers in Victor Osimhen, Taiwo Awoniyi, Paul Onuachu,Kelechi Iheanacho and many others, the attack is not as sharp as expected.
He said, “if we had have a sharp attack ,we wouldn’t have lost 0-1 to Central African Republic in Lagos, we even struggled to put two past them in the second legs of the encounter in Cameroon.
“A good team should be able to perform better than what we are seen in the team, that is why I support the decision of the coach to recall Ighalo to the team.
“The likes of Mikel Obi and Victor Moses were still relevant in the team, both of them are still playing well in their respective teams , it’s high time we begin to value experience , we need more of the experience players in the team.”
He added that “Ighalo is still playing well in his new club , Al shabab in Saudi Arabia, he is scoring goals , he knows his onion as an experience players , so his inclusion in the team will do us good.”
“No doubt, is coming back would raise some dust with the team ,but the fact remains that Ighalo is an experience player, who can unlock any defense at anytime, Nigeria are going to benefit immensely from his return.”
