Ile-Oluji/Oke-Igbo gets first female house leader

The legislative arm of Ile-Oluji/Oke-Igbo Local Government Area in Ondo State has made history by electing Iyabo Ayantunde as its first female House Leader.

Ayantunde’s emergence was confirmed at the council secretariat in Ile-Oluji, in a session attended by party leaders and stakeholders.

Other principal officers elected include Adesiyan Olukunle Kolawole as Deputy Leader, Taiwo Ajibade Tope as Majority Leader, Opeke Rufus as Chief Whip, and Agboola Samson Abiodun as Secretary.

In her address, Ayantunde pledged to work inclusively, ensuring that all relevant stakeholders are carried along in the discharge of her duties.

She also assured cooperation with the executive arm of the council to drive development and justify the trust placed in her leadership.

She described her election as a sign of progress for the local government, calling on political and community leaders to offer their full support.

The event was attended by key political figures, including the party chairman, Rufus Adefulire, the local government chairman, Adeboye Adebare, and former council boss, Kole Gangan Akinbolarin.
