Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo LG begins ‘operation fix all potholes’
From Francis Akinnodi, Ondo
Chairman, Ile-Oluji/Okegbo Local Government, Hon. Temidayo Akinsuroju has said the ongoing fix all potholes on the major roads operation in the area is to ease traffic in the council headquarters.
Akinsuroju in a chat with The Hope in his office explained that the operation zero potholes is aimed at making Ile-Oluji a pride of the people.
He said all the potholes in the headquarters will be addressed for free flow of traffic to improve the productivity of the people.
He said: “We wish to assure you that hope has returned and Ile-Oluji shall once again be the pride of our nation. We shall develop the right road infrastructure within our power in the council in our effort to rebuild the comatose economy of the area“.
He added that his administration is determined to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people despite little Internal Granted Revenue (IGR) saying their welfare remains number one .
“We have our own style of government, as a party, the APC, in order to impact meaningfully on our people in the local government areas, state and Nigeria. I listen to complaints from my people which give me an instinct on the solutions to the problems.
“When I resumed office as the chairman of the council, I discovered that no vehicle was functioning, even the chairman did not have an official car. We decided to purchase one for the chairman from the little IGR by paying installmentally, and to God be the glory today we have cleared the debt; the car belongs to the council.
“Again, we constructed a bridge at the entrance of the General Hospital for easy access to the place. All the above achievements mentioned and others were done through the IGR to bring happiness to the people”.
The Chairman however commended the council workers for their cooperation, self sacrifice and prayers which he said have positively encouraged him to do more.
Akinsuroju said, “We have six local governments in the South Senatorial District and out of the six, I can confidently tell you that Ile-Oluji/Okegbo LG is the strongest for the APC. If there is election today, I am sure by the grace of God we will have 95 percent votes, our people will vote for APC.
“In my council as per the party, we did not have crisis; the last congress we held were free, fair and very peaceful. We are one united family and in one page which makes us strong for the party”, he said.
He appealed to people to be patient with the APC-led government saying gradually every citizen will enjoy the fruits of good governance. “The era of money sharing is gone in politics and the APC government is giving back positively to the people on daily basis, so we must support the progress”.
He appreciated Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu for the massive renovation of schools across the state, adding that it shows that the state is improving in terms of education and human capacity.
“Our Governor is a man of the people, he is a man of his words and he is a man of integrity. Integrity is our watchword in APC and we have all keyed into it”.
