I’ll dualise Akungba Akoko road, construct overhead bridge, says Aiyedatiwa

The Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has pledged to dualise the major road in Akungba Akoko, located in the Akoko South West Local Government Area, and construct an overhead bridge for pedestrians in a bid to curb the frequent accidents on the route.

The Governor made this promise on Monday during an interaction with market women and youths from the community while returning from his senatorial campaign rally in Ikare Akoko, Akoko North East Local Government Area.

In response to concerns raised by community members regarding the dangerous condition of the road, Governor Aiyedatiwa reassured them, saying, “Our administration has no intention of removing the barricades currently in place. Instead, we have carefully evaluated various options over the past few months and have decided on the dualisation of the road along with the construction of an overhead bridge.”

He further explained that the project will cover the stretch from Ikare Akoko and pass in front of the main gate of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko.

“The dualisation will start from Ikare Akoko, ensuring the safety of all who traverse this road, especially pedestrians,” the governor added.
