I’ll ensure all inclusive education – ACE Provost

The Provost, Adeyemi College of Education (ACE) Ondo ,Dr. Samuel Akintunde has promised to enlarge the institution’s academic programme for all inclusive education .

Akintunde disclosed this during a media chat with journalists in Ondo  city.

He further promised to upgrade the ICT infrastructure of the college, to drive its  administrative and training sessions through the development of ICT to meet this need, particularly teacher-student interaction on courses available for each semester.

The development according to him,  will help them to know  each course online, its outline, reference books, assignments, attendance sheet, number of students, continuous assessment  and  grades among others.

The provost assured that he will integrate entrepreneurship education into the regular programmes, so as to  prepare students to be self reliant.

“In order to remain focused on the vision that I have for the college, technical education will commence in the institution through the establishment of the Department of Technical Education to raise teachers not only for technical subjects but to also facilitate technical knowledge to ensure sustainable development of the society”,he stated.

While assuring that he will establish entrepreneurship and skills acquisition centers ,where individuals from the immediate and neighbouring communities, irrespective of their level of education would be able to acquire skills, he stressed that the centres will be training people in various vocations, such as fashion design, event management, catering service and hotel management, among others.

He equally noted that the college will collaborate with other national and international institutions for mutual transfer of knowledge and skills through exchange programmes for staff and students.

According to him, acquisition of knowledge in any field in the 21st century is best driven by technology, saying that the college has witnessed tremendous development in ICT infrastructure that can compete with any other institution in Nigeria.

He informed that what is needed to be done now is to expand its usage for quick delivery of expected results.

The Provost added that all facets of the college would be adequately connected to ensure necessary interface of various departments, targeted towards achieving the same objective .
