I’ll industrialize Osun for economic prosperity – Adeleke

Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke has reiterated his commitment to industrialize the State for economic prosperity.
He said initiatives are being taken to nurture Nano, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises to sustainable levels, Skills Upgrade and Entrepreneurship Development Training Programme to encourage youths to be self reliant among others.
The Governor stated these at the official launch of The New Sustainable Industrial Development Policy of Osun State held at the State Secretariat.
He said the launch of the Industrial Development Policy is another testament to the fact that his administration is determined to create a positive revolution that will herald Industrial growth and development in the State.
The Governor who expressed delight at the collaboration of the State Government, Osun State University and Relevant Industrial Stakeholders on the policy said the model adopted for the formulation is what is obtainable in most developed countries of the world.
Highlighting the potentials of the State in the area of Agriculture, Forestry, and Solid Mineral Resources, Governor Adeleke said it is sad that most of the resources have remained greatly under-utilized for many years.
He described the Industrial Development Policy as a reflection of the administration’s resolve to strengthen the State’s economy, create wealth, reduce poverty and youth restiveness through revival of many of the moribund industries in the State.
Adeleke added that the policy will see to the development of Living Spring Free Trade Zone, establishment of Farm Produce Aggregation Centres with necessary processing facilities as part of implementation process of the policy.
In her welcome address, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Commerce, Industry, Cooperatives and Empowerment, Mrs Kehinde Odediran said, the Industrial Policy is a strategic effort by the State Government to encourage economic transformation and rally all available resources, human, business and natural to execute socio-economic development agenda which this administration has taken as priority.
