I’m determined to make Okitipupa clean – Adesanya

The Caretaker Chairman Okitipupa Local Government, Omo’ba Abayomi Adesanya has reiterated his commitment to make the local government clean through regular environmental sanitation exercise.

Abayomi said to achieve this, he has ordered that all the market in the local government should observe  sanitation exercise on every Thursday between the hour of 7:am to 10:am so as to reduce the volume of waste around the market.

” I have had meeting with the market women and other stakeholders.  And  made it compulsory that every Thursday, they should observe sanitation exercise between the hour of 7 :am to 10 :am “

” We did not stop there, we also provide logistics on how to evacuate the waste “

Abayomi called on the Ministry of Commerce and industry to live  up to expectations by not only allocating shops to interested individual but to assist in the cleaning up of the market.

The council boss said efforts is also been made by the local government to clear all the waterways and drainages from accumulated waste which can aid flooding.

He however appealed to the residents to be conscious of their environment and desist from habits of dumping refuse on the waterways  which he said might trigger disease and flooding.

He warned that failure to abide with the environmental laws of the state would attract stiffer penalties.
