Ondo State Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, yesterday said he is in high spirit to return to the State and continue his good work for the people.
The Governor in a statement he personally signed specifically appreciated the people of the state for their dedication, understanding, ceaseless prayers and messages of goodwill during his journey to recovery, saying these have been nothing short of a soothing balm for his soul.
Akeredolu equally expressed his profound gratitude to the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and his team, party leaders, members of the State Executive Council as well as members of the State House of Assembly.
He added that their collective strength and solidarity have uplifted his spirit and reaffirmed his commitment to shared vision for progress and development.
“I pen this message with a heart overflowing with immense gratitude and deep appreciation. Your dedication, understanding, ceaseless prayers and messages of goodwill during my journey to recovery have been nothing short of a soothing balm for my soul.
“Your unwavering support and genuine affection have sustained my determination to renewed vigor and, most importantly, to continue serving you, the good people of Ondo State.
“I am profoundly grateful to our esteemed President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and his team, as well as all political party leaders, my brother Governors, the State Executive Council, and the members of the State House of Assembly for their unwavering support. Your collective strength and solidarity have uplifted my spirit and reaffirmed my commitment to our shared vision for progress and development.
“While I remain on the path to recovery, I eagerly await the moment when I will stand among you once again. Rest assured, I am in high spirits and have full faith in the expertise of my doctors. I will return to you ALL as soon as they deem it expedient.
“My dear people, once again, your prayers, support, and the rejuvenating elixir of goodwill you have bestowed upon me have fortified my resolve. I am resolute in my dedication to serving you and working tirelessly for the betterment of our beloved Ondo State.
“Thank you from the depths of my heart,” the Governor said.
Meanwhile, the State workers under the organized labour union have urged Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu to complete his recuperation before resuming duty.
The governor was expected to resume his medical leave yesterday July 6.
But in a press statement, the labour leaders expressed delight the Governor is speedily recovering from his illness, just as they expressed their gratitude to God for His unwavering grace and healing bestowed upon the Governor.
The statement was jointly signed by the State NLC Chairman, Comrade Oladele Victor Amoko; his JNC and TUC counterparts, Comrade Olapade Ademola and Comrade Clement Fatuase.
They said despite the Governor’s speedy recovery, they urged him to prioritize rest and complete recuperation before resuming his duties.
The also called on all and sundry to continue to pray for the Governor’s well-being.
“We are delighted to receive the news of the swift recovery of our esteemed governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, CON. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to God for His unwavering grace and healing bestowed upon our dedicated governor.
“The Organised Labour in Ondo State remains committed to interceding on behalf of the governor. We express our profound appreciation for the governor’s unwavering love and dedication to the workers and people of the Sunshine State.
“Despite his speedy recovery, we strongly urge our dear governor to prioritize rest and complete recuperation before resuming his duties. We understand his inclination to resume work promptly due to his strong work ethic, but we implore him to allow himself more time to rest and fully recover.
“It is evident that the state is functioning smoothly without hindrance during the governor’s absence. Although, we miss his competent administrative decisions and interventions, we are confident in his imminent safe return.
“We call upon every citizen and resident of the state to continue to pray for our governor’s well-being. He has proven to be the finest governor in recent times, and we stand firmly beside him, providing unwavering support to his administration until the end,” the labour leaders stressed.
