It was indeed a day of joy at the St. Mathew’s Anglican Church Imeri in Ose Local government Area of Ondo State at the weekend, when members of the church, within and outside the community came together to appreciate God for another opportunity to celebrate annual harvest.
The Annual Adult Harvest Thanksgiving service had in attendance Senator Bode Olajumoke, the Baba Ijo (Father of the Church) who read the first lesson from John 6:26.
Admonishing the congregation, the Venerable of the church, Ven. C. F Adebisi, described harvest as a means of reminding christians of the second coming of Jesus Christ, when the sheeps will be separated from the goats.
He added that harvest programme represents a day when the righteous shall be taken to the kingdom of God, and sinners to hell fire, and therefore urged christians to choose where they want to spend their eternity before it is too late.
The cleric, however lauded the efforts of the harvest committee towards the success of the event and prayed that God reward them accordingly.
Speaking, Olajumoke described harvest as an expression of gratitude to God , noting that it is an eventful period established by forefathers to give glory to God for the grace to harvest the fruits of farming.
A traditional ruler who came to celebrate with the Baba Ijo of the church, the Owa-Ooro of Agbado Ekiti, Oba Adesina Obafemi said his decision to identify with him on the harvest day is to use the medium to appreciate him for his contributions to the development of his town.
