Ondo State House of Assembly has filed as appeal against the order of Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court, Abuja Division which restrained the House from impeaching the State Deputy Governor, Mr. Lucky Aiyedetiwa.
The appeal was contained in a notice at the Federal High Court, Abuja issued by the Speaker of the House.
In the appeal, the Deputy Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the Inspector General of Police, State Security Service, the state Governor and the Chief Judge of Ondo State were listed as respondents.
The appeal read: ” Take notice that the appellants being dissatisfied with the decision of the Federal High Court, Abuja Division, Justice Emeka Nwite made on the 26th of September, 2023, do hereby appeal the ground set out in paragraph 3 and will at the hearing of the appeal seek for the relief set out in paragraph 4.
The appellants further stated that the names and addresses of the persons directly affected by the appeal are those set out in the paragraph 5.”
The appeal was filed against all the decisions of the Federal High Court presided over by Justice Nwite.
Justice Emeka Nwite had on September 26, 2023 restrained all the defendants in the suit filed by the Deputy Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa from proceeding with his removal from office.
Justice Nwite also granted an order restraining the Ondo State Chief Judge from constituting any panel of investigation against the Deputy Governor.
