‘Increase youth engagement in sporting activities’

Ondo State House of Assembly has called for continuous youths engagement, especially in sporting activities in order to combat social vices in the society.

The House Committee on Youths and Sports Development led by its Chairman, Olajide Johnson Oguntodu stated this when he led other members on a visit to the State Ministry of Youths and Sport in Akure.

According to him, the Ministry is critical in the development of the State, hence, the need for all hands  on deck to achieve the set goal.

Members charged the Management of the Ministry to always carry them along promptly so as to know where to come in and ensure that the Ministry and Agencies under it are in fore front.

Earlier, the Commissioner in the Ministry,Bamidele Ologun who intimated the Committee on the activities, achievements and challenges of the Ministry sought for the assistance of the house in pushing to access fund.

He said the youth are key in the success of any government, promising to continue to work in synergy with the lawmakers to further develop the sector.
