The prosecutor, Inspector Nelson Akintemehin, had earlier informed the court that the defendant committed the offence at about 11:30 pm, at Christ Engracing Deliverance Church mission, Onyearugbulem Junction, Isikan area of Akure.

Akintimehin alleged that Adekola killed the victim, one Jumoke Adesua and also caused the death of her male child during delivery in her church mission.

The charge sheet read in part, “ Kikiowo Folashade Adekola, on the same date, time and place in the aforementioned Magisterial District, caused the death of an unborn male child during delivery and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 328 of the Criminal Code, Cap. 37, Vol. 1, Laws of Ondo State of Nigeria, 2006.”
