Goods estimated at several millions of naira have been destroyed by  daylight and late night inferno that razed a popular furniture factory in Akure, and some parts of the popular Bisi market in Ado-Ekiti, respectively.

The multi-million naira furniture company in Akure, owned by JohnWood Ltd, located inside Onyearugbulem market, along Ilesha/Owo Expressway, Akure, was reportedly consumed to ashes by the inferno, before the arrival of the fire fighters.

The Hope Metro  learnt that the inferno  which lasted several hours was caused by electricity surge around 11am on Monday.

Our correspondent who visited the scene of the incident, observed that despite the intervention of the fire  fighters,  the fire eventually stopped around 7p.m.

Other shop owners in the market were speechless, as they watched the fire destroyed all the imported Sofa chairs, Executive chairs and tables, Flower vases and other interior decoration materials in the shop.

In a similar development at Bisi market in Ado-Ekiti, the Deputy Governor of the state,  Otunba Bisi Egbeyemi, described the fire incidents as ‘very sad and unfortunate,’ during his visit to the place.

Egbeyemi said a total number of 20 traders and five members of Saruku Family at Bisi Market had their goods and property consumed in the early year inferno.

Egbeyemi expressed happiness that no life was lost in the fire incident, and prayed God to mitigate the loss and restore the lost fortunes.

He assured  the victims that government would not leave them to their fate at their trying period.
