Insecurity: ODSG deploys security to Akoko, Ose, border towns

The Ondo State Government has deployed armed security forces comprising conventional police and Amotekun Corps to the areas to keep surveillance against any banditry attack.

It will  be recalled that some women in Akoko area of the State had last week, protested against what they described as incessant criminal activities such as kidnappings, banditry, ritual killings and other heinous crimes happening in the area

Speaking with The Hope Metro on the efforts of the State Government to stop the menace, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Security Matters, Alhaji Jimoh Dojumo said joint armed security forces have been deployed to all the Akoko and Ose axis to man all identified flash points in a bid to prevent criminal activities.

He said the State Government is particularly concerned in ensuring the safety of all and sundry especially the above mentioned areas and had placed joint security operatives on red alert.

“We visited the area before we drafted armed security men there to keep surveillance and arrest anybody found to have masterminded that attack in Omolege via Ute in Ose local government. Since then normalcy had returned to the area.

While commending the efforts of security forces in helping to prevent any further attack in Omolege area, he hinted that fighting crime and criminality is a business of every everybody.

He appealed to the general public to always cultivate the habit of passing useful information to the police or Amotekun, assuring, that such information will be treated with utmost confidentiality.
