The Chairman, Caretaker Committee of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ondo State, Mr. Ade Adetimehin, has described the defection of opposition parties’ members to the APC in the country as a great development.
Adetimehin in an interview with The Hope explained that many political bigwits in the state joined the APC due to the ideology of the party.
The chairman, who further explained that the APC as a progressive party and welfarism based party said its performance had earned it massive defection from opposition.
“People are joining the APC not because being it is the ruling party, but as a result of the ideology of the party.
“We have mechanism of managing our people and everything put in place within the confinement of the party to maintain discipline and decorum within APC,” he said
Adetimehin, who also added that the massive winning of the APC during the House of Assembly election in 2019 general election and governorship poll in the state encouraged opposition to join the party.
“Since the elections have been held in the state, this is the first time governorship candidate won with the largest 51.2 percent with winning of 15 out 18 local governments in the state.
“This is an indication of the performance of the Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu and the discipline of the party gave the APC hedge above other political parties,” he said
