Instill discipline in your children, parents urged

Parents and guardian have been urged to instill discipline and fear of God in their wards now that they are young so that they can be successful in their careers.
Speaking in an interview with The Hope, a teacher, Dr Emmanuel Moyinjesu said most children are not disciplined today because their parents are not doing enough to instill discipline in them.
Moyinjesu said students were more disciplined when schools were being managed by missions because almost all the students were in the boarding house becauseit in
The teacher who said admission into secondary schools in those was based purely on merit added that school managers place premium on academic excellence.
According to him, the missionaries ensured that the students attended classes when they should, read when they should, go to the chapel when they should among others.
He added that most people who passed through the missionaries are men and women of integrity and are successful in their chosen careers.
He called on stakeholders to do everything possible to make sure the standard of education in Nigeria improves.
While saying that much is not done in the area of infrastructural development in schools, he called on all and sundry to contribute to the development of education in Nigeria.
He called on well to do people in the country to support the education of Nigerian students through scholarship so that they too can become somebody in life.
He called on parents to play their role since most children today are no longer in the boarding system so that they can grow up to become successful in their careers.
