Integrate VGN into security architecture, Akinwunmi appeals

The Commandant, Vigilante Group of Nigeria, Ondo State Command, Dr Akinwumi Gideon, has commended the state Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, for his total commitment to the security of lives and property of all residents across the state.
Gideon described Governor Akeredolu as a security loving Governor, saying Akeredolu’s original and keen interest in the security of lives and property of all and sundry in the state was without any ethnic prejudice or bias.
The security expert who spoke in Akure equally called for the integration of Ondo State Vigilante Service into the internal security architecture of the state to further achieve better result and completely rid the state of all security challenges.
According to him, the combination of Amotekun Corps and Vigilante Service as internal security in the state would certainly achieve greater success in providing adequate security for the inhabitants of the state.
He revealed that Amotekun Corps has a different style and approach to security challenges while Ondo State Vigilante Service also has a different classical approach to security challenges, adding that if the two are combined there would be a wonderful result.
The security expert also encouraged government to employ the principle of diversity of defense for expansion of the internal security architecture of the state for better results, adding that the diversity of defense which is a principle in cyber security is also applicable intelligently to physical, human and national security if properly used and managed.
“These two, AMOTEKUN CORPS and ONDO STATE VIGILANTE SERVICE shall both be under the ONDO STATE SECURITY NETWORK AGENCY with an appointed director general as the overseer of both in Ondo state.
“I have noticed our governor, Arakunirin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu’s original and keen interest in the security of lives and property of all and sundry in Ondo State without any ethnic prejudice or bias. The governor would hardly speak anywhere in a day without mentioning security of his people.
