In commemoration of the International Women’s Day 2024, the Mandela Washington Fellowship Alumni Association of Nigeria (MWFAAN) is poised to inspire women across the nation with its groundbreaking initiative, tagged “Count Her in 2024: Inspiring Inclusion and Empowerment.”

The theme for this year women’s day celebration is “Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress”.

Set against the backdrop of a world striving for gender equality, MWFAAN’s President, Farida Yahya, emphasized that “Count Her in 2024” transcends being a mere event but a beacon of hope and empowerment for women from all walks of life.

Speaking vis a press release, Yahya said the programme will shine a spotlight on the myriad achievements of women, spanning diverse sectors including civic engagement, public management, careers, and entrepreneurship.

Highlights of the programme include engaging panel sessions on pressing issues facing women today and chart a course for meaningful change, empowering leadership workshops and MWFAAN HER-Excellence Awards, designed to honor women who have made exceptional contributions to society.

By recognizing these trailblazers, MWFAAN seeks to not only celebrate their achievements but also inspire future generations of women to dream big and break barriers.

The event programme will hold in Lagos and Abuja on the 21st and 30th of March respectively.
