The management of Rising Stars Football Club of Akure has praised the custodians of the amateur division of the nation’s league, Nationwide League One (NLO), to investigate the match between Akure City and Ajiroba Ooni of Ife, in which the home team lost scandalously to their visitors by 2-9.

It would be recalled that Rising Stars had been awarded three goals three points in the match day 7 encounter by the management of NLO, relying on Article 4:12,4:07 and 4:13 of the NLO rules and regulations.

According to a release signed and made available  to newsmen in Akure the Rising Stars’ Team Manager Seun Betiku , in as much as we have no intention to join issues with either teams, (Akure City and Ajiroba Ooni) on the matter, it is imperative to note that the goal margin is suspicious.

“And we believe there was a sinister motive behind the goal margin, due to the fact that Rising Stars had better goal margin in the group C1”.

“Also, it is worthy of note that in the week 7 encounter against Rising Stars, Akure city were given only three yellow cards in the first half, that was what caused the issue that led to their being sanctioned of losing to us”, he explained

Same team were given two red cards at home in the first half against Ajiroba and they were so calm and good to finish the game.

It will also be good to remind the management of NLO to properly investigate the match and sanction anybody or teams  found culpable to serve as examples and prevent possible future occurrence of such.

It is also important to set the record straight, that it was scarce and rare for a home team to lose at home, in an amateur division with such wide margin, with two red cards and not abandoned such match, not minding the sanctions.
