The Chairman of Irele Local Government area of Ondo State, Mr. Olajide Akinfe, at the weekend began moves to further strengthen the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the council as he embarked on the large-scale distribution of agrochemicals and other farm implements to party leaders and members across the local government.
According to the council helmsman, the programme is designed by his administration to support and boost agricultural development within the local government.
Beneficiaries of the initiative, which is the maiden edition since he assumed office, include leaders and executive members of the APC from various political wards, women leaders, and party stewards, among others.
During the programme, a newly branded motorcycle was also presented to the Chairman of Ajagba Ward, Irele Local Government, Chief Ojo Arowojolu.
Speaking at the distribution held at the council secretariat along Ajagba Road, Ode-Irele, the council chairman said the initiative is part of his administration’s efforts to empower residents through sustainable agricultural development.
He thanked party leaders and members for what he described as their continuous support for his administration since he assumed office.
Akinfe also solicited further support and loyalty from party members, noting that such cooperation would ensure the success of his administration. He promised to continue collaborating with the state government to initiate more programmes and projects that will have direct impact on the lives of residents.
The chairman expressed gratitude to Governor Aiyedatiwa for what he described as the great opportunity to serve his people at the grassroots and appreciated the governor’s support for local communities across the state.
The highpoint of the event was the distribution of agrochemicals and farm tools to beneficiaries, alongside the delivery of goodwill messages by various party leaders.
