Osun State Police has arrested a 36-year-old Islamic cleric, Salawudeen Lukman over alleged ritual and possession of human parts.

Lukman, was one of the suspects paraded by the State Commissioner of Police, Olawale Olokode, at the police headquarters in Osogbo.

While briefing the newsmen, the CP said the police discovered a dead body identified as Bolaji Akerele, dumped somewhere in Ile-Ife.

Olokode said upon investigation, it was discovered that her head and palms had been severed from the body.

He said one Sunday Olajide was arrested in connection with the murder.
“The arrest of the first suspect on December 6, 2021, led to the arrest of three other suspects in Iwo, Osun State by a police tactical team.

They all confessed to having strangulated the woman to death with the motives of using her for money rituals.

According to the suspect, he said one Alfa Semiu brought parts of human head and palms to him to prepare money making soap for him.

Lukman revealed that he was given the formula ‘account’ of ritual making by a Fulani cleric, hence, gave it a trial when his customer brought the necessary materials.

In a related incident, personnel of Western Security Network agency codenamed Amotekun in Osun State have arrested a suspected ritualist, Kabiru Daramola in Modakeke. Daramola was arrested after he threatened to kill someone for not supplying him human skull.

The suspect was arrested at his residence in Modakeke after a complaint was made by one Mr Idowu Akintayo of Itasin Street, Modakeke.
The complainant alleged Daramola of threatening his life, when he did not give in to his request.
Akintayo was said to have given the suspect the skull of a dog which triggered Kabiru to go to his house with local gun made pistol and scattered his house.

Akintayo reported the incident to Amotekun in order to secure his safety.

Amotekun personnel arrested in his house with seven live cartridges and voodoo after thorough searching. Daramola has been handed over to the appropriate security agency for further investigation and prosecution.
