Workers employed by the Ondo State Government erupted in jubilation on Wednesday as they received their annual leave bonus, bringing relief and renewed hope to civil servants across the state.
The State Government disbursed the bonus to both junior and senior staff across all Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), a move described by civil servants as timely and commendable.
At the State Secretariat and various ministries, workers could hardly contain their excitement, with many cheering, exchanging handshakes and sharing the good news with colleagues.
The atmosphere was alive with laughter, animated conversations and expressions of gratitude as employees celebrated what they termed a long-awaited and well-deserved bonus.
Speaking with The Hope, some workers expressed profound appreciation to the State Governor, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, describing the bonus as a reflection of his commitment to the welfare of civil servants.
They praised his administration for recognising the hard work and dedication of government employees and for continually supporting staff welfare.
They added that the bonus would go a long way in settling personal obligations, supporting their families, and planning for festive activities in the coming months.
For many, the payment represented more than financial relief; it was a boost to morale and an affirmation that their dedication to public service had not gone unnoticed.
As celebrations continued across offices, workers expressed optimism that such gestures would strengthen their resolve to deliver improved services to the people of Ondo State, fostering a renewed sense of unity and purpose within the civil service.
