Following the declaration of President Muhammadu Buhari as the winner of last Saturday’s Presidential election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), residents of Owo, the country home of Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu (SAN), went wild in jubilation in the ancient town to celebrate his victory.

The crowd, mainly APC members, led by the party’s Chairman in Owo local government, Chief Sydney Ogunleye, trooped out in their large numbers, chanting various victory and solidarity songs which took them through some popular streets in the town.

The victory rally took the elated broom-wielding APC supporters round popular streets in the town like Iloro, Imola, Ododasa, Oke-Oja and others with the shout of “Say Baba, Next Level”.

Speaking with The Hope, Chairman, All Progressives Congress (APC) in Owo Local Government, Chief Sydney Ogunleye, expressed joy and happiness over the success of President Muhammadu Buhari at the 2019 Presidential election.

He explained that Ondo State people, as one of the South western states that won due to 25 percent votes, were grateful that the people had returned Buhari for second term.

The chairman further said the opposition parties were thwarted, while the president had promised to continue infrastructural development.

Earlier, Caretaker Chairman, Owo Local Government Area, Mr Adebayo Benjamin said the victory of Buhari was expected due to his achievements in the past four years.

Also, Oluwole Ogunmolasuyi, APC candidate for Owo Constituency in Ondo State House of Assembly, described Buhari’s victory as a reward for excellent leadership.

According to him, the President’s unequalled achievements endeared him to many Nigerians and that won him his second ticket in office.

He assured that APC would on March 9, sweep all the 26 seats in the Ondo State House of Assembly through the votes of the people in appreciation of the governor’s outstanding achievements.

Similarly, a member of the party, Mrs Opeyemi Akinrogba, expressed excitement over Buhari’s re-election, saying it is the reward for hardwork and honesty.

While commending the President for his various Social Investment Programmes which had provided employment for young graduates and the youths,  she appealed that the President should increase the number of the N-Power beneficiaries as promised in his Next Level agenda so as to accommodate youths who are yet to benefit from the life-changing scheme, adding that he should continue to be hope for the hopeless.
