Judgement: Affirmation of judiciary  independence – Ondo APC

The Ondo State chapter of All Progressives Congress (APC) has described  the verdict of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal  as an affirmation of the level of independence of Nigeria judiciary and its commitment to a true justice system to advance the interest and development of the nation’s Jurisprudence.

This was contained in a statement made available to The Hope by the party’s Director of Media and Publicity in the state, Mr. Steve Otaloro.

According to the statement, “the party noted with satisfaction the unanimous verdict of the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal which upheld President Muhammadu Buhari’s and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo’s victory at the February 23, 2019 presidential election.

“Ut stated tgat ruling, showed that the election was conducted in an orderly manner, also, within the requirements of the legal framework of the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”

“The verdict is an affirmation of the level of independence of our judiciary and its commitment to a true justice system to advance the interest and development of our nation’s Jurisprudence”.

The verdict, the statement explained will afford Buhari to concentrate on his provision of a leadership that connect with the downtrodden and offer a positive vision for change.

It added that the verdict will enhance a sense of engagement and devotion to the service and the protection of the interests of the country, especially, as it relates to the prosperity, the well-being and the security of the people.

In the statement, Otaloro said the APC as a progressive body, noting that the joy of party’s members knows no bound, just as he added that they cherished the verdict so much..

The party congratulated all Nigerians who took part in that massive exercise of democracy and the verdict which validated their mandate.

“This is the defining moment in our life time for something to behold as desirable, at a time when there has been wagers characterizing every new drive in our nation’s infrastructural development, moral discipline and economic revitalization.

“By the udgement, we can safely opine that we are on to a forward march of recovery.

“From the electoral field to the judicial tussle, it is now clear that the mandate of the people entrusted on President Muhammadu Buhari can never be subverted. We congratulate President Buhari on this victory at the Election Tribunal. There is no clearer democratic mandate than this one. the statement added

In the statement, the APC assured to its effort to continue building a prosperous and peaceful nation, fight against corruption and deliver the country from the grips of economic saboteurs.
