An early morning inferno on Wednesday razed seven shops in Ore, headquarters of Odigbo Local Government area in Ondo State, destroying goods and property worth millions of naira.

The inferno, which broke out along the Ore-Benin garage, gutted provision stores and a food vendor’s outlet.

The exact cause of the fire remains unknown at the time of this report.

Shop owners, who were seen lamenting their losses, have called on the state government for immediate assistance, as their only source of livelihood has been wiped out.

Local residents managed to extinguish the fire before it could spread further.
