Corps Members have been charged to justify the huge investment of the Federal government and other stakeholders in them by promoting national unity, be advocates of the cultural values and make meaningful investments out of the Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme.

The charge was made at the ongoing orientation camp for 2022 Batch ‘B’ (Stream II) Corps members at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Ikare-Akoko in Ondo State.
Addressing the Corps Members, the Director, Audit at the Directorate Headquarters, Mr. Leke Abiodun said that it took the scheme a pragmatic approach to birth the SAED programme.
He stated that in order to appreciate the ingenuity and creativity of the sheme, Corps Members should take it seriously so that the labour invested in its establishment ten years ago would not be in vain.

While stressing that NYSC has factored in every Corps Member into the intervention, he appealed to them to see the programme as invaluable contribution aimed at making them a great and successful individual who will remain grateful to the Federal Government for the establishment of the NYSC.
In her motivational lecture, a retired Deputy Director of NYSC, Mrs. Priscilla Akhamie charged corps members to make commitment their watchword during and after the service year.
Mrs. Akhamie said that the assiduity and commitment of the service corps will invariably place them on the path of progress they intend for themselves, admonishing them to make the service year impactful.

She averred government placed a high premium on corps members because of their invaluable contributions to the nation-building and urged them to be advocates of crime reduction through sensitisation.
During the cultural carnival, the NYSC Ondo State Coordinator, Mrs. Victoria Nnenna Ani charged the Corps Members to take advantage of diverse cultures in the country to promote cultural values that the nation holds sacrosanct.
She noted that the National Policy on Culture has paid off with every state having special days to celebrate culture, urging the Corps Members to complement the initiative by using the information technology dexterity via social media platforms to market the various cultures to the outside world.
Mrs Ani advised that indigenous languages which have been relegated to the background and foreign languages promoted should be made compulsory as part of teaching aid in order to strengthen the cultures of the society
