The newly elected Vice Chairman (South West) of the All Progressives Congress, Mr.Isaacs Kekemeke, has pledged to focus on the promotion of the region’s interest in the body of politics of the party.
He also promised to promote the virtue of intellectualism, progressivism, courage and fairness that people of the South West are noted for.
Kekemeke, who was former State Chairman of the party in Ondo State stated this in an interview with The Hope yesterday.
He said the responsibility handed over to him by Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu and other leaders of the party in the southwest to help manage the party on their behalf was seen as assignment more than office.
The Vice Chairman affirmed his readiness to represent them well and the entire southwest by making their interest known to the leadership of the party at the national level.
He maintained that it is part of his job to rally leaders of the party in the region to mobilize Southwest zone and Yoruba nation to support APC to win coming governorship elections in Ekiti and Osun States as well as to win Oyo states in southwest for the ruling party.
On grievances emanated from recent congresses of the party, Kekemeke assured he would do all within his capacity to settle all grievances after the congresses.
His words ” sometime, we can justifiably be angry but there is no justification for being internally angry.
“Even when you are unfairly treated you should be easy to talk to and allow by-gone to by-gone.
“My own experience as former chairman of the party and as one of the governorship aspirants in 2020 with Governor Akeredolu was like political limbo. But today I’m Vice National Chairman of the APC.
“Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose.
Our party cannot be where we expect it to be unless we are united.
“Sometime our party can be unfair to us and we should learn to forgive. When it is fair to us, we should be magnanimous to praise God,” he added.
