Kidnapped 3-year-old boy regains freedom

The 3-year-old boy, who was kidnapped last Sunday along Oda road in Akure, the Ondo State capital has been released by his abductors.
The Hope Metro reliably gathered that the victim regained his freedom after an undisclosed ransom was paid to the hoodlums having spent six days in the kidnappers’ den.
The suspected kidnappers had earlier demanded a whooping sum of 40 million naira ransom before the child would be released to his parents.
A family source said the family paid an undisclosed substantial amount of money before the criminals allowed the child unite with his family.
According to an authoritative source, the boy was released on Saturday after his family paid the ransom.
” The family has been apprehensive since the day the little boy was abducted by the hoodlums in the presence of his parents. His father was driving into their residential compound , when the unknown gunmen suddenly emanated from nowhere and whisked the victim away to an unknown destination,”the source stated.
Reports said efforts by the family to raise a substantial amount was so difficult as their continuous plea to the kidnappers to release the innocent boy failed to yield any positive result.
Sources said security agencies are making efforts to locate the whereabouts of the hoodlums for possible release of the boy who had spent over six days in the kidnappers’ den.
It will be recalled The Hope Metro had reported that unknown gunmen kidnapped the victim along Oda road in Akure, the the Ondo State capital on Sunday evening.
The hoodlums numbering about four had laid siege at the entrance of the gate of the victim’s residence at Oda.
A competent police source who confirmed the release said the victim has united with his parents.
He said efforts were on to arrest the criminals adding that the police and Amotekun Corps are still trailing them, while assuring that they will soon be apprehended.
