Lab scientist petitions AIG over threat to life

A Laboratory Scientist, Ganiyu Rasaq Olalere, has raised an alarm over alleged threats to his life and family by unknown assailants.

In a petition to the Assistant Inspector General of Police Zone 17 Command, Akure, the complainant through his lawyers said some people he offended while in service in the course of discharging his lawful duty are attempting to kill him following series of threatening calls from unknown numbers.

A copy of the petition signed by Daniel Onu from Igwebuike Associates Courage Chambers, and made available to The Hope Metro, states their client pleaded with the command to carry out a painstaking investigation into the matter to bring the said phone callers and the hoodlums to book.

According to the petition, the incident happened on June 19, 2024, around 2am-3am in the complainant’s residence at No 10, Fiyinfolu Avenue, Idanre Road, Akure.

The solicitors said some hoodlums broke into their client’s residence through a window with a substance suspected to be raw acid to kill him and his family, but they narrowly escaped through the door.

The petition further reads: “ Our client served as a Laboratory Scientist and National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) consultant under the Ministry of Agriculture, Ondo State, whose part of his duties was to test run and obtain actual results to ascertain whether the product is good for human consumption or harmful, among others. 

“The products of many companies were rejected after the tests revealed they are harmful and not good for human consumption.

“It is worthy of note that this offended many companies products were disapproved of being fake and not good for human consumption.

“At his retirement, such companies were now threatening to retaliate by showing our client the true colour of society by sending different calls with unknown numbers.
