Lack of rainfall: Ore residents go spiritual

The residents of Ore in the Odigbo Local Government area of Ondo state have resorted to special prayers to seek the face of God over the unbearable heat due to the lack of rainfall in the area.

The Hope learnt the area has not experienced rainfall since last year, which has given the residents, including farmers great concerns.

It was reported that some towns in the state, including the state capital, Akure, have experienced the first rain of the year which brought about relief among residents and farmers.

The people of the area have turned to God for help, lamenting that the heat is becoming unbearable.

Some residents who spoke with our correspondent said the lack of rain in the town is a thing to be worried about as they turned to God for their rescue.

A trader identified as Iya Bose said the rain that has not dropped is a thing of concern for them.

She narrated, “We have been noticing that it will rain in Ore, but before we say Jesus is lord, it will bring forth cool weather, it won’t rain at all

” We are seeking God’s intervention over the development because we are tired of this heat, we can’t bear it anymore.”

Also, An Islamic cleric, identified as Yunisa said, “We are all expecting the first rain for relief, but we cannot question God.

“In a time like this, the residents must move closer to God and pray for the forgiveness of their sins and he will answer them.”
