‘Lack of support hinders my progress’

A Nigerian upcoming hip hop artiste, Mustapha Oluwafemi Folorunsho aka Falonize has said that lack of support hindered his progress since he has been singing.
The artiste during an interview with Friday Extravaganza said that he has been singing when he was in Jss2, saying his name is going to be an household name.
Falonize who hails from Iseyin in Oyo State, said that the issue of marketers and promoters are serious challenges to him as they are not ready to promote upcoming artiste like him.
The artiste who just finished his West African Examination said that he developed his music career when he was in boarding school.
Falonize said that since he started singing, lack of money and support are his challenges, saying he would labour so hard after school to get money.
According to him, when he was in boarding school, he engaged himself in social activities where he was dancing and singing to make a fun.
The artiste said that his music is to educate young and old in the society.
He urged the government to find solution to the issue of piracy in Nigeria because it has damaged music industry in the country beyond remedy.
“I and my friends formed a group in school and we were teaching ourselves songs so that we can present it on our social night.
“From there, I developed my gift, I fell in love with music and I keyed into it, because I know I’m going places through music.
“It was rough, some times, I will work with bricklayers and do petty jobs to get money to help my music career,” he explained.
Falonize noted that by the help of God he has been able to release one track titled “Blessing follow me”and said the second track, will be out very soon.
He urged upcoming artistes to keep on giving their best, not be discouraged and keep looking unto God.
