Fast rising musician and music producer, lge Ayobami, popularly known as ‘Ay Poly’ is an Akure based entertainer who hails from Osun State.
Ay Poly, a student of the Federal University of Technology Akure, (FUTA), is a musician and music producer in the Nigerian music industry. He bares his mind in an interview with Friday Extravaganza. Excerpts:
Most artistes because of their fame have many girlfriends, what is your take on this?
“Everybody’s lifestyle differs. Even without being an artist, fornication runs in the blood of some people. Moreover, most times girls do run after entertainers because of their fame, even when we have little or no time for them.
“This act has advantages and disadvantages and I don’t think being an artiste means one should frolic with every girl that comes across someone every day.”
What kind of message your songs pass across to the public?
“Firstly music is all about vibe and mood, the message in a song might sound meaningless to you, but meaningful to another, the ability to give your fans the vibe and energy they need matters most and also, making music on the current situation of things count too. These are the criteria I base my music on.”
How would you rate the Nigeria entertainment industry now and before?
“There is a big advancement and development in the present industry. Though it is now more competitive than before, even big artistes struggle to stay afloat, but the truth remains that the entertainment industry is getting better everyday”, he said.
