Lassa Fever: Cleric preaches cleanliness

As a way of complementing government’s efforts at preventing the spread of the deadly Lassa fever disease in the state, a religious leader, Pastor Joshua Oluwatukasi  has admonished all members of his church to always make cleanliness their watchword.

Pastor Oluwatukasi who gave the admonition yesterday at the 30th Anniversary Thanksgiving of his church, Christ Apostolic Church, CAC, Kosountoluwakolese, Ayedun quarters, Akure, also charged all members of his church to ensure personal hygiene and keep their food away from contact with rats to prevent the spread of the Lassa Fever virus.

Oluwatukasi who described the last 30 years journey as full of challenges, however, appreciated God for His goodness and mercy over the church and his family.

He encouraged Christians to always be committed to the work of God and pray all the times to become Overcomers.

At the event, Pastor Daniel Oloye of CAC Monument of God’s Grace, Otapete, Owo, who rejoiced with the founder on the 30th anniversary of his church, further charged Christians to always remain in the Lord to enable them continue to enjoy God’s blessings.

Earlier, in his sermon, a guest Pastor Samuel Akinsulere, admonished Christians to always pray and give thanks to God for His protection over their lives.

The theme of the anniversary is, “In Everything Give Thanks”.

While giving the biblical reasons for the  anniversary celebration, the clergyman explained that anniversary is to gather people and make them hear the words of God, listen to and keep God’s commandments so that they would continue to enjoy His goodness.

According to him, anniversary is not complete without the words of God, just as he admonished christians who are children of light to always appreciate and give thanks to God for His goodness and protection over them.

Highlights of the event were cutting of anniversary cake, special renditions by host choir and the guest artistes, among other side attractions.
