The proposed creation of Council Development Authorities (LCDAs) by the Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu-led administration in Ondo State will ensure rapid development and bring governance closer to the grassroots.
The Director of Local Government Administration of Ondo West, Dr Tunde Moneyin stated this in an interview with The Hope, “The creation of LCDAs is a policy of government closer to bring government to the people so that they can enjoy the dividends of democracy,” he explained.
The DLGA hinted that the more the number of councils in a state, the more there will be proximity between the government and those that are governed.
He therefore enjoined all local government staff across the 18 local government areas to cooperate with the present administration in order to achieve success.
Moneyin urged the staff to shun violence and join hands with the government in ensuring that local government is taken to higher level and becomes the cynosure of all eyes.
