LCPPE 2025: TRADOC Commander urges candidates to uphold discipline

The Commander of Training and Doctrine Command, Nigerian Army (TRADOC NA), Major General Kevin Aligbe, has urged candidates for the 2025 Lieutenant to Captain Practical Promotion Examination (LCPPE) to take the exercise seriously, describing it as a pivotal moment in their professional advancement.
Maj Gen Aligbe, who also serves as the Examination President, delivered this charge while addressing the candidates at the Major General Joseph Nanven Garba Hall, Postgraduate School of the Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna, yesterday.
This was contained in a statement issued by the Acting Deputy Director of Army Public Relations, Training and Doctrine Command, Nigerian Army, Lt. Col. Sani Uba.
Congratulating the candidates on reaching this significant milestone, he emphasised that their selection for the promotion examination was a testament to their dedication and potential.
He further underscored the Nigerian Army’s zero tolerance for examination malpractice, urging them to seize the opportunity to build a strong foundation for their future in the military.
The TRADOC Commander highlighted the importance of discipline, courage, and exemplary conduct, which he described as the core values of the Nigerian Army.
He reminded the candidates that their performance in the examination could either propel or hinder their career progression.
“The 2025 LCPPE is designed to achieve the following objectives: improve the candidates’ knowledge of military professionalism, assist the Nigerian Army in career planning, test physical fitness, stimulate a competitive spirit, and assess command abilities, among others,” he stated.
Reassuring the candidates of a fair and rigorous evaluation process, Maj Gen Aligbe affirmed the panelists’ commitment to conducting a meticulous and transparent assessment.
In his welcome address, the General Officer Commanding 1 Division, Nigerian Army, Major General Mayirenso Saraso, urged the candidates to put in their best effort, maintain decorum, and uphold discipline to succeed in the examination.
Stressing the significance of the LCPPE, he expressed gratitude to the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, for granting Headquarters 1 Division the privilege of hosting the examination.
He also appreciated Maj Gen Aligbe for selecting 1 Division among other well-qualified formations for the event.
Maj Gen Saraso further advised both panelists and candidates to remain security conscious while in Kaduna.
The event was attended by senior military officers, including the Deputy Chief of Training (Courses and Examination) at Army Headquarters, Major General Ayoola Aboaba; the Chief of Training, TRADOC NA, Major General Peter Okoye; representatives from Army Headquarters and the Nigerian Army Heritage Centre; principal staff officers from Headquarters 1 Division NA; TRADOC NA’s team for the 2025 LCPPE; examination panelists; and directing staff.
