A musician, Yomi Moses Falasinnu, popularly known as Sir Yormex, has revealed that the absence of the lead vocalist of his church choir at a function moulded his life and made him a professional musician today.

Noting that life as a musician has been so great and  interesting, he said he found things easy when it comes to music.

Falasinnu stated that music became his career  about 18 years ago when he was in SS 2, and God has been helping him since then.

The artiste, while speaking in an interview with Friday Extravaganza described his voyage into the music industry as God ordained.

Going down memory lane, he said his church was invited to a Christian wake and they were to play as a life band. The person to lead them disappointed the choir, and he took up the responsibility as lead vocalist.

According to him: “Our choirmaster cautioned me not to do such because I’ve not led the choir before, but at the long run I was allowed to lead. After the programme, people commended me and the choir for a job well done and from there I got my first show. Thereafter, I realized it was  God’s plan for me. Then I formed my band.”

“I am a musician today who served under nobody but has been enjoying the grace of God which has connected me with many eminent people in the society.

“My aspiration is to impact the society with a kind music that would last the test of time.”

The artiste rated Nigerian music industry as excellent  saying new talents are discovered everyday with different styles, making it to measure up with  the world’s standard.

He said another passionate thing on his mind is to become a great artiste in the world, preach the gospel of God through his music and make heaven at the end of his race on earth.

The artiste who is a graduate of Accounting Education, from Federal University of Uyo,  Akwa Ibom State, noted that God has been so good to him and had helped him to manage his career.

Falasinnu, who hail from Aaye Ekiti, in Ekiti State, rated the Nigerian music industry high, saying it is growing and making major impact across the globe.

Advising artistes to meet people’s expectations in their music, he frowned at a situation whereby lyrics of some music albums  lack the real message.

He mentioned some of the challenges he faced at his early stage of his career to include disapproval of his parents for him to go into music, because they believed musicians are beggars. Another challenge was the formative period of his music band.

He therefore advised other artistes to put their trust in the Lord and wait for His appointed time.
