The residents of the Ondo South Senatorial District  have described Senator Yele Omogunwa’s  defeat in the National Assembly election for Ondo South Senatorial District as a lesson for elected officials to take their constituents  serious

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had on Monday declared Tofowomo as the winner of Ondo South Senatorial election with 81, 892 votes to defeat the incumbent Senator, Omogunwa of the All Progressives Congress, who polled 55, 610 votes.

Mr. Kola Adegoke, a community leader in Ore said sometimes this year  Senator Omogunwa was allegedly assaulted by some residents even in the presence of the Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, this showed that the senator has failed his people.

“His defeat is a lesson to all politicians especially from this area that if people gave their confidence through polls to the people that will lead them, you must respect their wishes and invest positively in their development.

“People are not fools, they know what is good for them. Governance is about good leadership. The development and interest of the electorate must be taken care of. So I can say his failure to impact positively on the people cast  him”.

A youth, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said, “Senator Omogunwa failed because he neglected his people in the senatorial district; he carried out no constituency projects since we have elected him.
